Pride Place is the first LGBTQ+ community and cultural space in Leeds City Centre, brought to you by Pride of Place Leeds.
The centre is the perfect place for any LGBTQ+ groups in Leeds and West Yorkshire to hold your meetings and events.
We are located right in the heart of the city’s Freedom Quarter a short distance from the train and bus stations. The space is wheelchair accessible (see below for full access details).
We’re looking forward to hosting you and your group!

Video conferencing at Pride Place
Our video conferencing equipment includes a 65" screen and wideangle camera that can capture everyone around a large table.
Hybrid meetings at Pride Place are based on Google Meet. You will not need to bring your own equipment: we’ll set up the hybrid meeting for you and send you a link to distribute to your remote participants. When you arrive at Pride Place, you only need to select your meeting name from the touchscreen and your meeting will start.
You can connect laptops or phones to the session using “companion mode” if you want to interact with the chat function or present slides to the meeting.
Our equipment also supports Zoom and Webex meetings but these take more setup so if you need to use one of these technologies instead of ours, please be sure to give us plenty of notice to configure our equipment appropriately.

Bookings
Pride Place is open now for bookings!
We’d love to hear from you about whether we can accommodate your group, either for a one-off booking or for a recurring one.
Bookings are open to:
Groups with an LGBTQ+ purpose
Groups with a significant LGBTQ+ membership
Groups that deliver services to the LGBTQ+ community
Our booking fees are a sliding scale - if your group has access to funds you will be asked to make a contribution towards our running costs that is affordable to your level of funding.
No group will be turned away for lack of funds - in many cases we will be able to let the rooms for free.
Please get in touch by contacting our bookings team:
We’d love to exhibit work by local LGBTQ+ artists on our walls in the event space. If you have work you’d like to see on our walls, get in touch using the email address below!
Donate to our running costs
Although we charge funded groups a fee, many groups use our space at no charge and we ask for donations to help cover our costs.
Anything you are able to contribute will help us considerably!

Our address is:
Ground floor, 12 Heaton’s Court, Leeds LS1 4LJ
Heaton’s Court is the alleyway off Lower Briggate between The Stone Roses Bar and Simply Pleasure (video), or you can access it from Swinegate via Blayds Yard (video). Our entrance is the door that is panelled with wooden slats, opposite the entrance to the Travelodge.
If you are travelling by car, there is limited paid parking directly outside, which can be paid for using the RingGo app. The nearest public car parks are Trinity Leeds car park and Q-Park Sovereign Square, both on Swinegate, near the turning for Blayds Yard.
Sadly, none of the spaces outside Pride Place are blue badge spaces. The Trinity Leeds car park has 8 designated wheelchair spaces and has assistance staff available. Please contact them directly through their website.
Access info
There are four doors from the street to the event space: (1) the exterior door, (2) the entrance to Pride Place, (3) the kitchen entrance and (4) the kitchen exit.
There is one step to enter the first door. We have a ramp to allow wheelchair access.
The accessible toilet is located in the event space, just next to the kitchen exit. The other toilet is located in the entrance hall.
Until February 2025, there is a private company using the conference room. There is a privacy screen that can be drawn between the two rooms.
(From February 2025) the conference room is located at the far end of the space - you have to pass through the kitchen and the event space to reach it. It has a glass wall separating it from the event space and a privacy screen that can be drawn between the two rooms.
The two small private rooms have entrances located in the event space. If you have booked these rooms, and someone is using the event space at the same time, we will let you know.
Unfortunately, we cannot leave the exterior door unlocked as we are not the only users of the building. You can contact the event space from the street with the buzzer, or your event’s host may prefer to assign someone to the door during gathering times.
If you have any specific access needs or concerns, please contact us ahead of your visit and we will be happy to discuss them with you.
